SO F*CKING BUSY
All right everyone...Seems like I haven't updated in just about 3 months, and God knows that during that time so much shit has happened...However, it's time to step it up and get down to business. I've been on the grind lately, I have DJed at Chloe twice, Play again (still my favorite place to spin at hands down!!), and I just picked up a new Saturday residency at Pasha Lounge for Rockaway Saturdaze...This gig is dope because the main focus is rock, but it's an open format so you will hear pretty much anything that breaks down the dance floor. Come check me out at my best, flyer to be found below.
However, this Saturday August 4th you can catch me spinning on the main floor of Ultrabar, I'm filling in for Enferno. Friday August 17th, it looks like I'll be at the Den Lounge in Baltimore, and Friday August 24th, I will be at Tiki Bob's in Richmond, VA. In the meanwhile, I return to Pasha on August 11th for my residency. More shit to come, I don't like to write very much, so here's the flyer for Rockaway.

While March started out busy but mellowed out near the end - just in time for my birthday (4/2) - April is going to be an insane month. I have several major gigs coming up and some smaller scale ones. It's gonna be a busy time, but the mark of the beginning of spring/summer, which is great. What am I up to in February?
Turns out this season is a lot more than I bargained for. I thought it was going to be fairly busy, but it turns out that it's VERY busy with a lot of stuff lined up in the next couple of months as well. Here's a quick round up.

Update what?!?
Wow I am SO behind on updating that all my previous posts just popped off! I've been so busy, I haven't had time to update anything...Juggling DJing and a day job is rather difficult, sometimes it's hard to draw the line between two different careers. Anyway, here goes the low down from the past month, my last post was on November 30, 2006.
First off, happy new year to all! I hope everyone spent it well and most of what happened on that night was remembered. I spent it low key, didn't work that night so it was definitely chilln into the new year. Looking back at 2006, it was my busiest year DJing and I certainly don't see it declining in 2007, so we're all in for a ride.
December 2006:
- I DJed at Avenue on the second floor on Thursday, December 21 and killed it - thanks to all who came out and supported, the night was intense! (thanks Jimmy and DCClubHost for being hospitable to this guest DJ - photos included)
- Dropped some tracks for a private party at a bar in Tysons (which looks to be renovating and become host to many happy hours and events - which I will be spinning for the most part)
- Thursdays at Orange Ball have been rather consistent (with a more diverse crowd - THANK GOODNESS!)
- Been working on getting a mix together (finally) and putting the finishing touches on it.
- It's the holidays! Who wants to work?!?
January 2007:

Gigs coming up!!!
Damn, it's been a long while since I updated my site...Sorry for the delay, I've been rather distracted and busy. Nothing new really, still doing the residencies and hanging out...Here's the lowdown:
Thursday
Same deal, alternating Thursdays at Orange Ball and Chloe. This Thursday will be Orange ball.
Friday
I have been off from H2O for the past two weeks due to private events, but I will be returning on September 22 for the FINAL Moonlight party at H2O, and Friday the 29th will be the final party at H2O period, Orgi 3...You know what that means, a packed house with asian people since Orgi events are always packed. That night I will be sharing the decks with DJ Twinspin so you know you will hear the nice variety always present at Orgi events. After this, I will be taking a break from Friday residencies until something fun comes up.
Saturdays
This Saturday I'm dropping a set in VCU for the VSA Welcome Back party, and that should be good fun. I always enjoy spinning down there because those kids know how to get down, and I often have killer sets because they will dance to anything. I will also be back at VCU September 30th for another party, so keep posted for more details as the date nears. October 7, I am spinning for the Washington DC APA Film Festival closing party at Panache sponsored by Verizon, Hennesey, and many others...That's a sure fire event, make sure to mark it on your calendar to attend. After this, it looks like I will be picking up a new Saturday residency - this one under wraps so again keep posted until I can release information.

Hey guys...Starting Thursday July 27, I will be starting a biweekly residency at Chloe named Crush. This event is in conjunction with dcNRG, East End, and Nightlife Agency, and has been pickin up a lot of buzz lately so you should definitely check it out. It also marks my first set in Adams Morgan area, so that should be interesting. see the flyer below. It's $10 cover, but guestlist makes it free up until 11PM, and it is an open bar for ladies until that time as well. Not bad right?

Wats up all, I'm finally back to updatin its been busy here at the office, and I really havent had anythin interestin to rant about. This past friday at H2O was pretty good, the movie casting call was a success we had a HUGE stack of applications, thanks for the interest and support! Naturally, the party went great and the patio was actually quite busy. However, no surprise there since DJ Twinspin knows how to kill it with the classics. The party overall was great, although we did get a late crowd. Perhaps it just felt like a late crowd to me since people were outside doing the casting call for some time, and my room didn't fill until about 12:30 but it was BUMPIN after that. I'll be lookin forward to killin it more this week, no doubt about that. I did have some difficulty with the CD players and turntables - I don't like using Serato over two different mediums but it is so much easier to hook it up to CD players in a club rig. However, the discrepancy in equipment took a toll on my set (I know, a good DJ should be able to play on anything) and I have decided to stick strictly to turntables from now on so that I can be most comfortable. Hopefully they will fix the crooked one that causes skipping...I mean really, a Shure M44-G skipping? Makes no sense since I'm so light-handed.
So this Friday, again, Moonlight @ H2O is sure to be fire!! So I hope to see everyone there, thanks for everyone who has been supporting, and even more love to people who are now known as regulars. Also, don't forget about my weekly chill residencies at orange ball billiards in rockville, md. I never talk about it on here but it is ongoing weekly, and it's very fun given the fact that all liquor is half off! And since there is no cover, one cannot go wrong with going there to get wasted. The music format includes everything except Hip-Hop, so expect 90% house, 80s, classics, reggae, and funk. If I have a good crowd, I will play a bit of Hip-Hop but I generally try to stay away.

this friday, as always is moonlight at h2o. the past two weeks have been amazing, and we only expect the event to get better as it builds momentum. same ol format, me playin hiphop and the likes, dj twinspin hittn 80s and classics on the patio, and dj kam rockin the house and trance in the vip.
also, CLIMAX DC will be holdng the open audtions for various parts in the movie, "Finishing the Game," at H2O this Friday, July 21st. The movie will be filmed in LA and Mexico starting July 30th!

HUGE new event this Friday, July 7: Moonlight at H2O
wats up all i had an entire post written but the power went out and i lost everything...Now i'm too lazy to rewrite it all so im gonna summarize everything then plug my next gig. i just got back from myrtle beach tuesday night, didnt realize that my blog only went back two days so i had a blank website for a bit of time, sorry for the delay on updates.
this friday is the beginning of moonlight at h2o, its sure to be a huge event. its promoted by climaxdc, dcnrg, and dcnites...so that means all those crowds will be combined for a huge event. they also hired me to spin, along with mark and an old friend dj kam in two other rooms for a total of three rooms of different music and a patio with music piped to it as well. the venue is sposed to be large and clean, and there's free food and open bar frmo 9-11. please arrive early, its sposed to be crazy. guestlist is available and ends at 12, please email me at chau@djchizzau.com and be sure to write GUESTLIST in caps all big so i don't delete it as spam, thanks! here's the flyer so click on it for more information...see yall there!!!

vacation and moonlight
What up all...Time for a quick update! Tomorrow I'm spinnign at Aqua as posted earlier, and next weekend (June 30 to July 4) I'm going on vacation so i can get my mind right before we set things off this summer. When I get back, I start a new Friday residency at H2O called Moonlight. It is promoted by DCNites, dcNRG, and my peoples ClimaxDC...I've been wanting to see these promotion crews working together for a couple of years now, so this is very much like a dream come true to me. DCNites and dcNRG were responsible for Vida last year, and as most of you may remember it was quite successful. By throwing ClimaxDC (along with myself) in the mix, this event is sure to be fire. Imagine Tantra meets Vida, and you get the idea of what things are to come. I expect everyone to be there for the grand opening, which is July 7th.
Finally, here is the flyer for Aqua Lounge's event this Saturday, June 24. I also expect all of the regulars to attend this event, it should be good fun as always. Come buy me a drink!

Hey guys thanks for visiting again...As you can see I try to update and make the page look more appealing (or appalling? haha!), but I'm new to this Movable Type Blog thing so I'm learning HTML which I forgot ages ago, please bare with me. I have added a Links section, and on the left column you are now able to see the links to whatever events I am spinning that week. Anyway, keep checking because I will have a flyer and new information about the new Moonlight event.
Also, this Saturday I am spinning at Aqua Lounge. Most of you know what to expect when I spin there, but the management has requested for me to play some dance music too so I will be playing some EDM throughout the night. Playing Hip-Hop all the time gets old so I welcome the change, I just hope that the crowd is receptive. It should be pretty refreshing to hear something different from the usual, mixed cohesively. There is also a fashion show and other goodies so it's definitely worth checking out, Saturdays at Aqua are generally packed anyway.

this saturday, i'm throwin down at love in washington DC, on the 3rd floor/patio. i first DJed this party for DCnites and dcNRG, and let me tell you - they killed it. the place was full as hell and the crowd was amazing. you guys should definitely come and check it out, of course it shouldn't be too hard since most people hit up love on saturdays already anyway. im playin this event with dj twinspin, and while ill be playin hiphop/reggae and all that goodness, mark (twinspin) will get down with classics new wave and this 80s shit, its definitely a set you must hear. i have guestlist, and many many flyer passes, and i have a very few vip cards available as well. please get in touch with me before Saturday afternoon if you would like any of those, thanks.
